Buy a Ford commercial vehicle
Ford returns to the commercial vehicle market in compact vans, the broad Transit family, pick-ups and heavy-duty trucks. As a result, a search for Ford can yield vehicles with completely different applications and weight classes.
Compare not only model and year of manufacture, but also bodywork, wheelbase, drive and permitted mass. There are many combinations for freight and passenger transport, especially within the Transit series.
Transit Courier, Connect, Custom and Transit
Transit Courier is the compact version, while Transit Connect in the used range represents the step towards a more spacious compact van. Transit Custom serves the mid-range segment and the large Transit is available as a van, double cab and chassis for a variety of body types.
Please note that Transit can also be offered as Kombi, minibus, box truck, tipper or other converted vehicle. The outside therefore does not always tell you how much loading capacity and usable loading space remains.
Ford Ranger and F-MAX
The Ranger is a pick-up where the cabin shape, loading platform, towing capacity and drive are central. The F-MAX belongs to the heavy Ford Trucks series and is mainly offered as a tractor unit for long-distance transport.
These vehicles share the brand name, but not the same technology, parts supply or deployment. Therefore, compare a Ranger or F-MAX within the correct vehicle category.
What should you check when buying a used Ford?
Within the Transit range, length, height and drive have a direct influence on loading space, turning circle and payload. For E-Transit versions, also check whether the range and charging speed match the route, load and outside temperature.
- Exact Transit series, body style and number of seats.
- Wheelbase, roof height, loading length and door sizes.
- Front, rear or four-wheel drive and transmission.
- Net payload, towing capacity and bodywork weight.
- Maintenance, mileage and demonstrable previous use.
- For pick-ups: condition of the loading platform, undercarriage and any towing equipment.
